Hello!

I want to address the format of my website—I hope to communicate with you in a sort of conversational way as I feel that this is often how the internet and social media interacts with us. This brings us to how I remember some of the first times I interacted with the internet. I never used to associate the internet with phones. When I was younger, I used to play games on a giant mac desktop computer. I remember it was one of the iterations with color options, ours was green and I loved it. To be honest, though, I don’t remember the games I played on this desktop—I remember the set up more vividly. It sat on a white desk that held wire, basket like drawers.

When I began middle school, I was allowed to get a phone. The logic was that, at that point, I needed it for safety as I walked to school everyday. I remember this phone had a little internet browser, but one that I could not use. I accidentally clicked it once and as it began to load I had to escape the application so as to keep it from charging me extra. This now is certainly not the norm.

It was around this time that I needed a computer for school work. I got a blue chromebook and it did the job. I actually could only access the internet on this device, it did not allow you any storage on the computer. At this point, the first iPhone existed, my mom had it, and I was very jealous. So I saved up my money, not to get an iPhone though—that was too expensive for my middle school self. I got an HTC One V phone. It was a smart phone, I could access music and the internet more reasonably. But, still, I remember wanting the more mainstream smartphone because of it’s simple and straightforward connectivity. This I now have, and it influences my day to day life, as I’m sure it also does you.
